Internationally recognized as Piedra Sukabumi, Pedra Hijau, or Bali Green Stone, this material is a rare quartzitic sandstone formed by ancient volcanic activity. It is mined exclusively in West Java, Indonesia.

How to install Sukabumi pool tiles?
- 1. Adhesive: Use a highly flexible, polymer-modified thin-set adhesive specifically rated for natural stone and continuous submerged pool environments.
- 2. Back-Buttering: Ensure 100% coverage by applying adhesive to both the substrate and the back of every single tile.
- 3. Grouting: Maintain a 3mm to 5mm grout joint. Use epoxy or high-performance pool grout.
- 4. Sealing (Crucial): Apply a premium penetrating (natural look) stone sealer immediately after the grout cures, before filling the pool with water, to prevent oxidation.

Routine maintenance preserves the deep emerald color and prevents the buildup of calcium scaling.
- Tools: Use only soft nylon brushes. Avoid hard wire brushes that can scratch the honed finish.
- Chemicals: Use pH-neutral pool cleaners. Never use Muriatic Acid or strong acidic solutions directly on the stone, as it degrades the minerals.
- Oxidation Spots: If yellow rust spots appear (due to iron oxidation), treat locally with a diluted 25% ceramic cleaner solution, brush gently, and rinse immediately.

No. Authentic Bali green stone is highly resilient to standard pool environments, including chlorine and saltwater systems. The stone does not fade; in fact, being submerged in water deepens the color, bringing out the vibrant emerald greens and blues.
We do not recommend using the Bruta (Rough) finish for the interior floor or walls of the pool where people will swim, as the textured split-face can cause skin abrasions. Bruta is exclusively meant for exterior cladding, feature walls, and coping edge trims. Always use the Lisa (Honed) finish for submerged interiors.
